Invisalign

Invisalign is a virtually invisible alternative to traditional braces! Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to straighten your teeth without metal brackets or wires.

Patients of every age are turning to Invisalign to achieve the smiles of their dreams. Dr. Thompson is proud to provide this innovative treatment to her patients who want appealing and healthy smiles.

How Does Invisalign Work?

If you are eligible for Invisalign, Dr. Thompson will take x-rays and impressions of your teeth. Using advanced technology, she will design a series of aligners that are uniquely fashioned to fit your teeth.

Each patient is given about twelve sets of aligners that are customized to gently move their teeth to their ideal positions. Once the treatment plan is finalized, the patient should wear each set of aligners for about two weeks before switching them out. They should be removed only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Dr. Thompson will closely monitor the patient’s progress to ensure that their aligners are working effectively.

As the patient replaces their aligners with the next set in the series, their teeth will move little by little, until they reach their final desired positions. Patients will visit our office just once every 6 to 8 weeks to check their progress and receive their next few sets of aligners.

Advantages of Invisalign over Traditional Braces

For most patients, Invisalign can accomplish the same orthodontic goals as traditional braces can. Invisalign has many advantages over metal braces that our patients love, including:

  • Esthetics: Invisalign is virtually invisible, so no one has to know you’re wearing braces.
  • Reduced Bacteria: You can remove your Invisalign to brush and floss easily. Invisible aligners are not the giant plaque trap that brackets tend to be.
  • Superior Comfort: No one wants metal cutting their cheeks and lips. Invisalign aligners are smooth and comfortable.

Many of our patients find that Invisalign braces are better suited to their lifestyle than metal braces. They are subtle, smooth, and easy to clean.
